Carl Marquez

Biography
Carl Marquez is a core faculty member in the Global College of Professional Advancement at the University of Arizona Global Campus. He earned a Master of Science in Educational Technology from National University and a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from San Diego State University.
Before joining the University of Arizona Global Campus as a full-time online assistant professor, Carl accumulated over 25 years of educational experience, spanning from elementary school to university-level teaching. He has served in numerous educational roles including front office administrator, student information systems technician, high school teacher, high school sports coach, curriculum developer, staff developer, and college/university instructor.
In addition to his educational background, Carl has earned several certificates and certifications from Microsoft, CompTIA, HP, and Cisco. As a systems analyst with the government, he gained valuable experience in information systems management, cybersecurity, database security, budget management, and project management, helping to improve the efficiency of organizational processes and systems.
Carl is passionate about sports and technology. He enjoys playing and watching professional sports and has participated in a variety of activities throughout his life, including basketball, football, bowling, tennis, wrestling, and martial arts. Currently, he runs, golfs, plays in softball leagues, and jogs with his Husky. A self-proclaimed computer enthusiast, Carl embraces technological innovation and enjoys science fiction and action films. He is also a veteran of the United States Marine Corps.
Carl’s goal is to motivate and empower students. He believes that every student has the ability to learn through dedication, study, and practice, and that learning is a lifelong journey. His philosophy centers on motivation, engagement, proper guidance, and hard work—the combination he believes gives every student the opportunity to achieve success.
