Biography
Dr. Holly A. Lopez is an Associate Professor in the Global College of Professional Advancement at the University of Arizona Global Campus. She teaches in two academic programs: the Bachelor of Arts in Child Development and the Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Development with Differentiated Instruction.
Dr. Lopez earned her Bachelor of Arts in World Arts and Cultures and her Doctorate in Education from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), where she completed her studies in the Educational Leadership Program. She considers herself both an artist and a scientist, blending creativity and research in her work as an educator and administrator.
Dr. Lopez has a deep passion for teaching and for facilitating quality education for both children and adults. Her career in education began in 1995 as a student preschool teacher at UCLA Child Care Services, and she has remained committed to the field of education and child development ever since. Throughout her career, she has worked in a variety of child development settings, creating and cultivating child care centers that serve families with HIV/AIDS, homeless families, veteran families, and adolescent mothers. These experiences gave her profound insight into the power of the human spirit and the transformative impact of quality childcare and developmental support.
Today, Dr. Lopez continues to teach in child development and provide leadership in higher education. She is a teacher of teachers, inspired daily by her students and honored to help diverse adult learners reach their highest potential. She strives to be a catalyst for developing strong, compassionate educators and caregivers, believing that each student she mentors contributes to a powerful and enduring circle of human growth and development.
