Biography
Dr. Antoinette Vicks is an Assistant Professor for the Social and Criminal Justice programs in the Global College of Professional Advancement at the University of Arizona Global Campus.
She earned a Doctorate in Criminal Justice and a Master of Science in Psychology from Walden University, a Master of Arts in Health Administration from the University of Phoenix, and a Bachelor of Science in Investigative Studies from the University of Texas at Arlington.
Dr. Vicks has worked as a Forensic Investigator and Medicolegal Death Investigator for over 14 years, in addition to serving as an expert witness and news consultant in matters pertaining to death investigations. She has also conducted trainings and conferences on a wide range of topics within the criminal justice system and her field of expertise.
She encourages students never to put time constraints on achieving their goals, often reminding them that “they are closer today than they were yesterday.” Having been a working adult and parent returning to complete her degree, she understands the unique challenges many students face.
“My favorite thing about teaching is sharing my knowledge, skills, and expertise; however, I feel it is just as important that students share their knowledge and insight to create and encourage a healthy exchange. This exchange of ideas supports and enhances the learning experience and hopefully resonates with learners.”
