
Dr. Savannah Thomas
Biography
Dr. Savannah Thomas serves as Associate Faculty in the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Arizona Global Campus (UAGC). She earned her Ed.D. from the University of West Alabama and completed her undergraduate studies at Mississippi State University. With 15 years of experience in education, she has worked with early childhood, elementary, and adult learners across the U.S. and internationally.
As a scholar-practitioner, Dr. Thomas is dedicated to fostering equitable opportunities and creating identity-affirming spaces for all learners. Her work is deeply rooted in social justice and dismantling systems of oppression, ensuring that education is both transformative and inclusive.
Leading with connection and empathy, Dr. Thomas strives to make every student feel seen, heard, and empowered to reach their highest potential. In addition to her role at UAGC, she is the Executive Director and Founding Leader of an identity-affirming, language-immersion Montessori school in Washington, D.C.
Beyond her professional work, Dr. Thomas is the proud mother of an inquisitive and joyful two-year-old daughter who reminds her daily to be present and embrace life’s moments. She finds joy in cooking (and eating!), exploring nature, learning about different cultures, traveling, and being a dance mom.
