The University of Arizona Global Campus (UAGC) operates as a business unit within the University of Arizona (UArizona). UAGC is governed by the Arizona Board of Regents (ABOR) and is accredited by the WASC Senior College and University Commission (WSCUC).
The University of Arizona Global Campus (UAGC) is approved as a State Authorization Reciprocity Agreement (SARA) participating institution by the Arizona SARA Council. SARA is an agreement among states, districts, and territories that helps expand students’ access to educational opportunities and ensure more efficient, consistent, and effective regulation of distance education programs while maintaining compliance with state regulations. As of 2025, 49 states (all but California), the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands have joined SARA. To learn more about SARA, visit https://nc-sara.org.
Institutions participating in SARA may offer educational opportunities in SARA member states without seeking individual approval in each state. As a participating SARA institution, UAGC is authorized to offer distance education in accordance with NC-SARA established policies and standards.
Professional Licensure
Students and prospective students seeking employment in a field that requires professional licensure or certification are strongly encouraged to contact their state’s licensing entity where they intend to practice to review all licensure and certification requirements before enrolling. The information provided in the tables located at https://www.uagc.edu/disclosures/state-authorization/professional-licensure includes the UAGC programs that are designed to meet educational requirements for a specific professional license or certification that is required for employment in an occupation and the university’s determination of whether a particular program, if successfully completed, would be sufficient to meet the state educational requirements for specific professional license or certification in each state. Some states require individuals to complete additional requirements that are unrelated to educational prerequisites. These disclosures do not guarantee that any state licensure or certification entity will approve or deny an application. Additionally, these disclosures do not account for changes in state law or regulation that may affect an application for licensure that occurs after these disclosures have been made.
Relocation
A student changing their state of residence after admission into a degree program may impact whether the student can remain in the degree program and/or meet the state licensure requirements. Prior to considering relocating, students shall contact their program advisor to discuss authorization and licensure eligibility requirements. It is the student’s responsibility to notify the institution of a change in physical location.

SARA Complaint Process
Distance education students in SARA participating states may submit non-instructional complaints to the Arizona SARA Council. The Arizona SARA Council has jurisdiction over Arizona SARA-approved institutions, including the University of Arizona Global Campus, in relation to non-instructional complaints. Non-eligible complaints include grade appeals/grievances, student Code of Conduct related complaints, and complaints beyond two years of the incident and should not be submitted to the Arizona SARA Council for review.
Before registering a non-instructional complaint with the Arizona SARA Council, the student/complainant must complete the internal dispute resolution process offered by the University of Arizona Global Campus Resolution Center and the Arizona Board of Regent’s complaint process, as listed below. Students also have the right to contact state authorization or accrediting agencies for specific issues.
Non-instructional complaints may be submitted via the SARA Complaints Process Page.
Once a complaint is received by the Arizona SARA Council, the Council will determine the eligibility/jurisdiction of the complaint. Complaints must be filed within two years of the incident about which the complaint is made, and must be a formal assertion in writing that the terms of SARA, or of laws, standards, or regulations incorporated by SARA, are being violated by a person, institution, state, agency or other organization or entity operating under the terms of SARA and the complainant must be a student of an Arizona SARA Council-approved institution. Non-eligible complaints include grade appeals/grievances, Student Code of Conduct related complaints, and complaints beyond two years of the incident. If the complaint meets eligibility and falls within the jurisdiction of the Arizona SARA Council, the Council will review the information provided and contact the complainant and institution. The Arizona SARA Council works directly with the institution's SARA contacts to secure resolution.
