UAGC policies, programs, practices, and processes ensure it continuously identifies institutional barriers to student success; takes actions to ameliorate those barriers; and uses institutional data to continuously improve institutional and student performance. Institutional student success goals drive the university’s body of work; all UAGC faculty and staff regularly evaluate the effectiveness of their work according to measures of progress on these goals.
The UAGC Director of Student Success is charged with ensuring accountability for work on the institution’s student goals. Cross-functional groups of institutional leaders are tasked with supporting the Director of Student Success through review of institutional data; delivery of feedback and guidance; and communication of the directives from the Director of Student Success to their functional areas.
Executive Leadership Team – The UAGC Interim Senior Vice Provost for Online Initiatives, Vice Provost Global Campus Academic Affairs, Vice President Global Campus Enrollment Management, Vice Provost Global Campus Student Success, and Vice President Global Campus Business Operations & Finance meet weekly.
Student Success Committee – Appointed faculty and staff from each institutional functional area meet bi-monthly.
Student Success Research and Development Team – Appointed faculty and staff meet monthly.
Meanwhile, the Delivery Unit holds the relevant parts of the university accountable for achieving goals and supports the work of above groups. The Delivery Unit is a small team that employs the Deliverology Framework to manage institutional performance related to the UAGC four critical student goals by ensuring there are specific targets for the critical goals and corresponding plans and/or change initiatives; tracking and evaluating the likelihood of the university’s achieving these goals; providing transparent analyses of challenges and progress to UAGC goal and initiative leaders; and supporting issue resolution when needed.
These layers of regular interdepartmental analysis and communication help to ensure that UAGC faculty and staff at every level understand the institution’s student success strategy and their responsibility to it.
